Yalonda Bey, Board Member

Yalonda has aspired to create culinary excellence since her first cooking experience at nine years old. Born in Honolulu Hawaii, Yalonda spent her formative years living across the United States due to her fathers’ career in the military, which exposed her to diverse food experiences. Her culinary background which spans: Classical French, New World Cuisine, and Patisserie, can be credited to the formal education she received at the prestigious Johnson and Wales University, where she graduated with high honors.

Yalonda has honed her culinary skills with well- known organizations such as: Compass Group, Welch Allyn Lodge, and The Turning Stone Casino. Yalonda currently teaches Culinary Arts at The Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central High School. Yalonda teaches her students the importance of professionalism, technique and understanding cuisine, while also preparing her students for real world experiences. “You will make mistakes, but how you handle yourself during those moments is what makes all the difference”.

Currently, Yalonda serves on the Executive Board of the Image Initiative, Inc. working with the CHOICES Experience.
